Abstract
Intelligent and precise minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment has become one of the main trends of clinical medical development. How to improve the accuracy and efficiency of surgical diagnosis and treatment has become a major challenge for clinicians? Images are expected to present an intuitive and accurate real-time guidance for surgeons or therapeutics systems, making it efficient to reduce invasiveness in surgical treatment. The integration of diagnosis and therapeutic systems, which combines preoperative and intraoperative images have been established for precision tissue identification, tumor resection during surgery. Many relevant researches integrated mechanics, informatics, electronics and medical sciences have also been carried out and are highly applicable to disease diagnosis and therapy. These procedures include medical image/information assisted robotics surgery and minimally invasive intervention, and make surgery safer, less invasive and more effective. We have investigated novel image processing and multimodality image fusion methods in the field of quantitative and automatic analysis of lesions and anatomic structures to guide accurate diagnosis, efficient implant determination and radiation-free intraoperative navigation. We have also carried out intelligent medical image analysis to guide precision medical treatment in different medical applications such as cardiovascular, orthopedics, and neurosurgery. Our goals expect break through the traditional concept of minimally invasive surgery, open a new field of high-precision diagnosis and treatment for intelligent medicine.
